Orkney Planning Consultation & Local Advice
Why You’ll Want This
This service exists for the moments when Orkney feels confusing, busy, or fully booked.
Many visitors arrive with plans already in place or half-formed, only to discover that tours are full, timings don’t work, or advice online contradicts itself. Others simply want to explore independently but still want reassurance that their route, expectations, and priorities make sense on the ground.
This consultation gives you access to local judgement when capacity, timing, or uncertainty is the real problem.
You leave with clarity, realistic options, and confidence. Even if everything feels booked solid.
What This Service Is
This is local advice and plan review, not itinerary writing.
I don’t build full schedules or sell pre-made plans. Instead, I help you understand:
- what is and isn’t realistic in Orkney
- how busy periods actually function
- where flexibility still exists when tours are full
- what alternatives make sense if Plan A disappears
Clients commonly use this service to:
- sense-check plans already booked
- adjust expectations during peak season
- identify quieter or less obvious options
- decide whether guided or self-guided makes more sense
- avoid wasting time chasing unavailable experiences
Think of it as a reality check delivered calmly, clearly, and without sales pressure.
Why Do This With Me
I live here. I work here. I guide here.
I understand how Orkney behaves when cruise ships arrive, ferries are tight, weather shifts, and availability disappears overnight. I also know which advice online still holds up and which quietly fails in real conditions.
I’m not a travel agent and I’m not trying to sell you something through this service. That means the advice stays honest.
If there’s a workaround, I’ll explain it.
If there isn’t, I’ll tell you early, not after you’ve lost a day chasing it.
And if you ask a question I don’t immediately have an answer to (rare, but possible), I’ll say so then make it my objective to find out whether one exists.
Cost & What’s Included
Consultation fee: £60
This includes a focused one-to-one video call where we:
- review your existing plans or questions
- discuss timing, capacity, and realistic options
- identify alternatives if tours are full
- clarify what’s worth prioritising and what isn’t
There is no obligation to book a tour.
If you later do, prior consultation is taken into account.
What This Service Is Not
This service does not:
- guarantee availability
- replace guided tours
- act as travel insurance
- promise perfect conditions
It exists to reduce confusion. Not to sell certainty wherenone exists.
Next Step
If Orkney feels busy, unclear, or already booked out, the next step is a short consultation.
For many clients, this single conversation turns frustration into a workable plan and saves time, money, and disappointment before they even arrive.
